Multiple Focus and Hopf Bifurcations in a Predator-Prey System with Nonmonotonic Functional Response

چکیده
In this paper, we develop a criterion to calculate the multiplicity of a multiple focus for general predator prey systems. As applications of this criterion, we calculate the most multiplicity of a multiple focus in a predator prey system with nonmonotonic functional response p(x) = x ax+bx+1 studied by Zhu, Campbell and Wolkowicz [26] and prove that the degenerate Hopf bifurcation is of codimension two. Furthermore, we show that there exist parameter values for which this system has a unique positive hyperbolic stable equilibrium and exactly two limit cycles, the inner one is unstable and outer one is stable. Numerical simulations for the existence of the two limit cycles bifurcated from the multiple focus were also given in support of the criterion.

Stability analysis of a fractional order prey-predator system with nonmonotonic functional response
In this paper, we introduce fractional order of a planar fractional prey-predator system with a nonmonotonic functional response and anti-predator behaviour such that the adult preys can attack vulnerable predators. We analyze the existence and stability of all possible equilibria. Numerical simulations reveal that anti-predator behaviour not only makes the coexistence of the prey and predator ...
متن کاملHopf bifurcation analysis of a diffusive predator-prey model with Monod-Haldane response
In this paper, we have studied the diffusive predator-prey model with Monod-Haldane functional response. The stability of the positive equilibrium and the existence of Hopf bifurcation are investigated by analyzing the distribution of eigenvalues without diffusion. We also study the spatially homogeneous and non-homogeneous periodic solutions through all parameters of the system which are spati...
متن کاملThreshold harvesting policy and delayed ratio-dependent functional response predator-prey model
This paper deals with a delayed ratio-dependent functional response predator-prey model with a threshold harvesting policy. We study the equilibria of the system before and after the threshold. We show that the threshold harvesting can improve the undesirable behavior such as nonexistence of interior equilibria. The global analysis of the model as well as boundedness and permanence properties a...
متن کاملDiscretization of a fractional order ratio-dependent functional response predator-prey model, bifurcation and chaos
This paper deals with a ratio-dependent functional response predator-prey model with a fractional order derivative. The ratio-dependent models are very interesting, since they expose neither the paradox of enrichment nor the biological control paradox. We study the local stability of equilibria of the original system and its discretized counterpart. We show that the discretized system, which is...
متن کاملMultiple Bifurcations in a Delayed Predator–Prey System with Nonmonotonic Functional Response
A delayed predator–prey system with nonmonotonic functional response is studied by using the normal form theory of retarded functional differential equations developed by Faria and Magalhães. The bifurcation analysis of the model indicates that there is a Bogdanov–Takens singularity for any time delay value. A versal unfolding of the model at the Bogdanov–Takens singularity is obtained. On the ...
